In a sheltered, southerly position around ten miles off the Turkish mainland, Rhodes enjoys just about the
best climate of all the Greek islands. The friendly locals are used to catering for foreign visitors, and it shows in the
high standards of efficiency and service here on the most cosmopolitan of Greece’s top holiday islands.
There
are numerous excellent sandy beaches around the coastline, most with a good choice of watersports facilities and plenty of
sunbeds and umbrellas to hire. Add to these a good standard of accommodation, lively nightlife and a fine modern airport,
and it’s easy to see why Rhodes is so popular as a holiday destination.
Pefkos, one of the most famous tourist resorts of the island of Rhodes, in Greek means 'pine tree' which
gives you an idea of the local scenery and while it has grown from a sleepy little bay into a lively small resort with a long
beach and a very clean sea with good watersports, the sands here are not as crowded as they get in neighbouring village
of Lindos. With less watering holes and packed discos but still a number of delightful tavernas, the pace is quieter, slower
in tempo, and somehow a bit more Greek. For a laid-back time, with a night or two in Lindos for serious fun, Pefkos offers
the best of both worlds.
With all the delights of Pefkos on the doorstep you wouldn't know it from the
relaxing atmosphere which prevails here. Apartments at the Summer Memories hotel are newly built, modern and very spacious
and even the sandy beach is only 300 metres away if you ever want to leave the inviting pool and its welcoming bar.
We look forward to having you stay with us when you are in the area.
